BULGARIA: Vivacious Conference for women – October 2010

Report by Ps Kath Wyllie of Peterhead, Scotland

Bulgaria for me was incredible. I met amazing people, saw God move powerfully and it was such an honour to work with wonderful Pastors in that nation who are truly making a huge difference.

For me and the two girls who accompanied me to Bulgaria, this was a life changing experience. As soon as we arrived, I felt I was truly on a mission, had come with a job at hand and so desired to be a blessing to these wonderful people.

Vivacious conference was a very special time. Cheryl Upton (from Aberdeen, Scotland) ministered very well indeed and made it so easy for me to follow. I ministered three times at conference and then also on the Sunday at church. I felt so blessed and privileged.

The people were so hungry, so desperate and responsive to God’s Word. People were born again, set free, healed and encouraged – to be honest it was all I could ever have hoped for.

The Plovdiv Pastors, Bojidar & Toni Simeonov, were a great blessing and I just loved them and appreciated so much all they do in Bulgaria to serve God. They are true GIANTS in their nation and do an incredible work.

After Vivacious was over my heart still knew I wasn’t released to relax, as I knew we had to visit Chirpan and the gypsy settlement there. I had heard about Angela who was eleven and cared alone for her three siblings as her Mum and Dad had disappeared. I knew the church in Bulgaria was trying to help raise funds to build a house for them, so they could have water, etc.

Pastor Bojidar arranged to take us there Sunday evening and, boy did these people steal my heart! Their conditions are horrendous, yet the love and smiles upon their faces so humbled me. We visited the gypsy church and had the honour of sharing with the people and then headed home. My heart was so burdened for these people and, as we travelled, I cried in my heart, “Please God, use me as a vessel to help and make a difference!”

Before we arrived back at the hotel, I received a text from a friend back home saying, “Kath, I will give you the money when you get home to build Angela a home.” I was overwhelmed, as was everyone else in the car! Today, Angela and her siblings have a home.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to visit Bulgaria and I know that, for this season, I will work hard to do all I can to bless those people and play our part in making a difference.
