Misima Island is way off to the south east of the mainland of Papua New Guinea. For ten years, Ps Peter & Chris Rodriguez of Gympie COC (Qld. Australia) have taken teams to minister and encourage the churches in Misima and other islands in the Milne Bay Province.  And they are there now with 7 in their team…helping out with a crusade at Bwagaoia, visiting a church in a remote villages and building relationships in other areas.

A group of 8 students has just graduated from the MTI (Ministry Training Institute) course that was held at Mt Hagen in the Western Highlands of PNG. Ps Malcolm Shooter from Dubbo COC in New South Wales, Australia has overseen these courses in a different area of PNG and on his recent visit for the graduation, he was very encouraged to see it doing so well in the Highlands. Another session is planned for later in the year from September to November.

PNG (Papua New Guinea) has 19 provinces and these are organized generally into 4 regions. Highlands, Islands, Northern and Southern. Under the leadership of Ps John Brass, who is a member of the Oversight team and a pastor of a vibrant church in Port Moresby, the Islands Region are holding a Regional conference for the first time from July 15-19. It is to be held in the village of Bol on the eastern coast of New Ireland (Google it and you’ll find it). Ps Mathew Roni, the National Chairman travelled from the Highlands to be the main speaker.
